#InsideISPGroup Mission 4 – socialising at work

SHARE

The way we work in offices has fundamentally changed – hybrid work and working from home are the new normal.

This type of work environment gives employees increased flexibility and comfort, and saves them the trouble of commuting. And, let’s face it, we all enjoy the opportunity to work from the comfort of our sofa in pyjamas every now and then.

But the hybrid/work-from-home model also has its downsides. It can, for example, limit colleague interactions to Zoom, Teams or Google Meet links. Socialising face to face at work has many proven benefits. Here are some examples:

  • It encourages teamwork
  • It improves communication and collaboration between people and across departments
  • It creates a sense of purpose and togetherness
  • It enhances trust around the office and creates a willingness to help each other
  • Workplaces with friendships usually have a lower employee turnover
  • Being social at work has been proven to decrease stress and reduce mistakes

So how do we maintain the flexibility of the hybrid working model while at the same time ensuring that our employees can build in-person relationships?

We introduced a fun and effective solution at ISP Group: organising a range of social gatherings as often as possible! We’ve organised barbecues, met for after-work drinks, visited our offices around the globe, and even had a Eurovision Song Contest party. Mission accomplished!

Here are some of the highlights of ISP Group’s social gatherings from the last months:
